Welcome to the 2015 TAAF Gymnastics Camp! We look forward to you joining us on June 6, 2015, for a half day of quality gymnastics training and a lot of fun! From the minute your daughter walks in the doors, our staff of 20+ coaches will make her feel welcome and give her the individual attention she needs to learn new skills and get a head start on next year’s season. The action packed day will leave little room for down time as the gymnasts rotate between multiple stations, having the opportunity to work with a variety of top notch gymnastics coaches on each event. We guarantee your daughter will enjoy a great gymnastics training experience no matter what level she is! The cost is $60 and any gymnast who is currently competing in TAAF Gymnastics is eligible to register. The camp will be held in the newly built Richardson Gymnastics Center, 200 E. Arapaho in Richardson. Deadline to register has been extended to May 18, 2015.
Tom Haley is in his 10th year as the Assistant Coach for the University of Oklahoma’s Women’s Gymnastics Team. In 2010 Tom was chosen as the National Assistant Coach of the Year. He helped lead Oklahoma to the best season in program history in 2014, coaching the Sooners to a first NCAA title, an NCAA Regional championship and a Big 12 title. The primary floor coach and co-coach on bars, Tom coached five Sooner gymnasts to All-America honors last year.
Rich Trevino has owned and operated Trevino’s Gymnastics for the past 31 years. His coaching career spans 43 years, having worked with every age group and ability level, up through Elite. Rich has coached many state, regional and national champions, as well as many NCAA scholarship gymnasts. From 1978 to 1983, he was the Head coach at the University of Texas at El Paso 1978-1983. Rich has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Univ. of Texas at El Paso, has coached at many camps and clinics, and has been a speaker at workshops and congresses throughout the United States and the world.
Mark Walsh is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor where he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Sports Science. Mark has been involved with the sport of gymnastics for nearly 20 years as an owner and coach. Mark specializes in teaching basic gymnastics skills and body shapes to help the athlete reach their potential in the sport. He has coached all ages and level of athletes from preschool through collegiate level gymnasts. Mark has had several athletes compete at the national level and has turned out multiple local and state champions. Mark was the first recipient of the “Unsung Hero” award from TX USAG. He has been recognized by USA Gymnastics and continues to stay active in the education aspect of the sport.
Martin Parsley has been coaching for over 35 years and has used his extensive studies in kinesiology to augment his coaching talents. He began his career in Houston with Bela and Marta Karolyi and proceeded to train numerous athletes at the National level, one of whom participated in the Olympic trials in 2008. Over 50 of his gymnasts have qualified and won awards at USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Nationals and so far 23 of his gymnasts have continued their athletic career into the NCAA ranks. Martin has been honored by Texas as Coach of the year in 2008 and Region 3 selected him as Regional Elite Coach of the year in 2009. Martin is married to Stacy Panfil-Parsley who he considers as his dream wife and mother of his three children and a cherished business partner and best friend. It remains his goal to provide coaching with passion and for as long as he can and he does so with enthusiasm and commitment to all his athletes.
Leah Perison is a dancer, performer, choreographer and yogini from Dallas, Texas. Having trained and taught from Los Angeles to New York City, Leah has performed and choreographed for numerous dance productions, films and music videos around the country. She obtains a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from the University of North Texas and served as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Dance Department of Mountain View College, where she specialized in Hip Hop Technique, Hip Hop Performance, Improvisation, and Body Conditioning. Leah is a certified 200hr RYT from Core Power Yoga. A former solo dance two time National Champion and State Champion optional gymnast, Leah combines her dance, gymnastics and yoga training to create unique and entertaining floor exercise choreography around the nation.
Dana Duckwoth is the head coach for the University of Alabama’s Women’s Gymnastics Team. She has been a part of the Alabama gymnastics program as a gymnast and coach for 19 seasons. She was part of the Tide’s 1991 NCAA title as a sophomore and the 2002, 2011 and 2012 NCAA championships as a coach. She has also won conference titles as an athlete (1990) and a coach (2003, 2009 and 2011). In addition to her infectious enthusiasm for the Crimson Tide and her skills as a technical coach, Dana is also one of the nation’s premier choreographers evidenced by the national level success the athletes she has worked with have enjoyed.
